Christians Together in Torquay (CTT) aims to connect Christians across the town, enabling them to work together in serving God and the community. Our common mission is to pray, worship and work together for the transformation of our town into a more Christ-centred community.
We connect with almost 30 churches, 20 local Christian organisations and various other local bodies, cooperating to arrange local events and services and to support local projects in the fields of mission, education, health and care, including food banks, winter night shelters, schools and town centre activities.
A small committee meets to plan and pray together, but CTT is “what it says on the tin” – every Christian in Torquay is included and all are welcome. Every month (apart from January) we organise a prayer breakfast, with invited guests including our local MP and the Torbay Council Leader.
Each year we take a lead in organising united services to mark Palm Sunday and the World Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, and the Good Friday Walk of Witness. From time to time we’ve arranged events to mark Christmas, Pentecost and other key dates in the calendar, as well as election hustings and community activities. You may have seen the Hope posters we distributed during Covid lockdowns.
We praise God for the unity we share among the diversity of Torquay’s churches, and we pray that our shared witness will continue to grow across the community and especially in the town centre.
